In my day to day life, I see many examples of people who are just a little overweight. In fact, I would guess that at least 1/3 of the people I know who are over the age of 50 fit into this category. I have found a few studies that show that being overweight increases the risk for several life-threatening diseases. Even if you eat well and workout and do everything you are supposed to do, things can go wrong.
