A new study out of Oregon State University conducted by Dr. Laura J. Stevens and her colleagues found that dieting is not just about weight loss, but can also have a significant impact on mental health. The researchers studied the effects of restrictive diets on participants’ moods and attitudes towards food in comparison to those who ate whatever they wanted, or were even allowed to binge eat every now and then.
