I used to reach sticking points all the time, because of my continuous use of a spotter or forcing reps that I couldn't lift myself. The idea behind doing "forced reps" and "negatives" is that it is enabling your body to get used to handling more weight for more reps. This is a fantastic mass gaining strategy and it even increases strength in the short term, the problem is that a strength gain sticking point is inescapable using this kind of lifting strategy.
